Collective's high energy fixation began when our Technical Director, Jamie Mereness, built his first NST-powered coil. The lightning discharges and visuals were stunning. The unique sound of air molecules being destroyed became music to our ears. The cloying scent of ozone permeated our hair, the theater and the street outside. We were the only performance space / art collective on the block with one.
That all changed last August when two 400lb packing crates arrived from Tesla Technology Research. By way of obsessive fixation with dangerous science and spectacle Collective:Unconscious had become home for the TTR Model 4D. One of a kind. TTR builds coils for museums, research, and films. Collective's special needs meant that for the first time a power supply with Model 5 controls and features was mated to a Model 4 coil.
