What is this place?
Theater Collective: Unconscious contains a theater facility that can hold between 70 to 90 spectators. The space contains a 20' by 21.5' area that can be used as a stage, with raked risers for the audience.
We have a full lighting grid and enough sound hardware to make the space rumble with live sound, recorded sound, sound effects modules, and synthesizers.

Performance Space We host performances that don't fit into the common theatrical classifications but that doesn't matter to us. If it's original and compelling, we want to present it. Faux Maux as Little Red
Rehearsal Space Both our main performance space and our downstairs' multi use area can host rehearsals for work taking place on site and off site. N-HO-TEP Cast at Dress Rehearsal
Monster-Robot Production Facility We build costumes and installation art, for on-site and off site events, including our very own July 4th Monster Parade, the Coney Island Mermaid Parade, the Earth Celebrations Parade, our annual Halloween Thing event, and other performances/events. Screening Space We have a high quality movie screen and video projector that can take a variety of different kinds of video input, from VCR's to dvd's to computer monitor images. We have screened film, projection, and video work from around the world, through such ongoing events as the Robert Beck Memorial Cinema.
We have screened many first time public viewings, most notably of Electra Elf, a Super-Heroine TV Series.

Art Space Collective: Unconscious hosts art events, particularly installations that include multimedia sculpture and immersive environments. You can use our banks of midi machinery, projector, and sound system to create whole worlds within the confines of our black box performance space.
Multiple moorings in our ceiling make for easy hanging of installation objects.
