New Programs at C:U

Collective: Unconscious is launching a new series of programs and is accepting proposals from curators and producers for the following programs that we are rolling out in 2006. All proposals are due by 12/30. Also check out other opportunities to get involved with C:U through work-exchange, internship and volunteer opportunities at C:U.

 

Weekly Film Series

C:U is launching a weekly film series on Mondays. C:U is seeking a four different curators who will curate one week of the month. Each curator will have the opportunity to create a distinctive program and will work with the other curators to promote each series. Examples are as follows: Experimental, Diverse Cultural Perspectives (Black, Latino, Asian, etc.), Sci-Fi, Gay/Lesbian, Anything Goes. Unique ideas and perspectives are encouraged. C:U currently owns a good video projector and screen. Other equipment may be brought in to supplement ours.

C:U will provide technical support.

C:U will support the series by providing promotion in the form of postcards, a weekly email blast and listing in the web and printed calendar.

 

Monthly Music Series

This series will occur on a Saturday at 10pm – 1am on a monthly basis. We are seeking proposals from cutting edge music producers/promoters who will bring live experimental music to C:U. C:U will provide technical support.

C:U will support the series by providing promotion in the form of postcards, a weekly email blast and listing in the web and printed calendar.

 

Burlesque

C:U is seeking a host/hostess producer to present a monthly burlesque series on a Friday night beginning at 10pm. C:U will provide technical support for the series.

C:U will support the series by providing promotion in the form of postcards, a weekly email blast and listing in the web and printed calendar.

C:U will provide a cash wine/beer bar.

Forward your proposal to future@weird.org. Please include a brief description of your vision for the each series and your resume/biography. Proposals will be accepted until 12/30. Interviews with selected curators will be held on an ongoing basis as proposals are received. Programs will be rolled out as they are ready.

Compensation for each series will be based on box office receipts.
